Mama & Me.

I can't help but get emotional for this post.
We have been put through a lot in just your first (almost!) 6 months of life.
Mama has had to be brave and stand strong.
You have helped me to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
For everything I do, I do for you.
My life. My world. My baby. My son.
You are the l o v e o f m y l i f e.
Me & you will be just fine. Mama is here to protect you.
Mama's boy forever.
This little face. Those brown eyes. That sweet smile. Those long eyelashes.
That precious nose. Those little ears.
What's a mama to do?
Scoop you and snuggle you! : )
We are in full-throttle mode getting ready for Christmas.
Tree is up. Shopping is almost done. Wrapping and more wrapping.
Lights are up outside. Baking is happening. It is beginning to cool down.
One more week until our first Christmas together!
& aren't you happy about it?

i love you angel baby.

Blessings.

I am T H A N K F U L for you
J A X S O N   R E E S E!

It has been over year since we found out about your existence in this world.
Back then I didn't know how life would be with you.
Now, I cannot imagine life without you.

You are 4 1/2 months old & full of new tricks.
  • Blowing Bubbles
  • Rolling Over
  • Sitting up with minimal support
  • Holding your own bottles
  • Eating Oatmeal from a spoon
  • Self-soothing yourself to sleep at bedtime
  • Giggling up a storm
Over the past few weeks you have become very observant of your surroundings.
You are fascinated with Tooey.
We are teaching you to be gentle and kind to her.
She is a trooper and lets you bonk her upside the head or pull her hair.

We celebrated your first Thanksgiving this week.
Mama had you all decked out.
This year we opted for Bucca Di Beppo's
 family style Turkey Dinner.

It was yummy - but does not compare to Gigi's Turkey Dinner she normally prepares.

Playing a game on the night of Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve is a big deal around here.
It has been a family tradition since I was little.
You actively participated in your first game.
I can't even explain how excited I am to pass down old family holiday traditions
& create new ones with you.

You are the biggest blessing ever given to me.
The holidays have an all new meaning now because of YOU.
I am thankful for that.

Jaxson's First Halloween

This year Halloween fell on a Wednesday.
Lucky for Mommy - I didn't have to work that day.

I was indecisive when it came down to your first Halloween costume.
I had bought Skeleton Jammies, a Batman Onesie & even borrowed a Hershey's Kiss.

They were all okay...but were not special enough for my little guys first go at this whole trick-or-treat rendezvous.

I had to dress up like Minnie Mouse for work the day before. So late Tuesday night I happened to stumble upon an ad for custom made Mickey Mouse costumes. I e-mailed the lady with high hopes that she had one already made in your size.
SHE DIDN'T!

BUT SHE DID....
E-mail me back and say she could whip one up over night - if we were able to pick it up the next day. I couldn't believe it! I knew this was the costume for you!

Mama Minnie
&
Baby Mickey

After we got in our costumes,
we took pictures and headed out front.
It is a neighborhood tradition to sit out in the drive-ways and socialize.
You were crashed within the first 10 minutes : )
We passed out candy and checked out other childrens faBOOlous costume ideas.
Many neighbors came over to see you!
You were still too young to eat candy or go door-to-door.
Next year, I will pull you around in a wagon and those tiny feet of yours can
walk up to get your very own candy.

HAPPY 1ST HALLOWEEN  TO MY FAVORITE MICKEY MOUSE!

Happy Friday!

H A P P Y  F R I D A Y !

It is the first Friday in which it is starting to feel like FALL in AZ.
Bring on the cooler weather, footed jammies, ugg boots, apple cider, pumpkins & smores!

We <3 Fridays around here..
Fridays usually consist of Mama being off of work, getting to sleep in, playing all day together, getting stuff done, getting ready for Friday Night Lights - GO Red Mountain! , getting to be outside - Jaxsons fav!, and last but certainely not least..spending lots of time as a family!

Big boy is 16 weeks old & we are anxiously awaiting his first Halloween coming up next week! Check back for pictures : )

15 weeks old!!

I can hardly believe my little man is 15 weeks old!
It is exciting and rewarding to watch him grow - it seems like every week he has a new trick up his sleeve.
Not to mention, with each passing day - he looks bigger and bigger and his appearance is changing by the day.

It has been the happiest time of my life. I cherish every day I have with this peanut.
The past 8 weeks I have been back to work but with the grace of God I have been able to only work a couple of days a week so that my time away from Jax is minimal.

Now to catch up on the latest happenings:

Jaxson Reese Johnson turned 3 months old on October 1st!!
To celebrate we took him for a picnic next to the fountain in Fountain Hills, AZ.
We ate & played for a few hours.
& then took him shopping where we picked up some adorable outfits for this cutie!

Nana came to play with us one evening.
I captured some cute videos of them interacting and coo-ing back and forth.
Here are some pictures that capture the fun they had together.
Jaxson is Aunt Ashley's favorite little man.
She claims to be a little bit obsessed with his cuteness.
It's hard not to be, huh?
She has a long list of ooey-gooey nicknames for him.

He enjoys
B A T H T I M E!
(Mama's boy will always be clean & dressed to the T!)
Jax is now able to splash in the water & always tries to reach for my rinsing cup.
We use Vanilla Oatmeal Baby Wash & Lotion...
So I call him My Little Oatmeal Cookie !
Over the last month I've taken hundreds of pictures of my little guy.
I know we will laugh looking back on this time of our lives.
I'll share a few of my all-time favorites:

To my giggly, smiley, happy, loving, handsome, always hungry, mellow
15 week old baby boy,
I LOVE YOU TO INFINITI & BEYOND!!!
Thank you for bringing me peace.
Thank you for making me smile and laugh, everyday.
Thank you for all of these sweet, priceless memories.
Thank you for being MY SON - hand-picked & chosen just for ME.
You are and will always be special!
