New Years Eve!

Well peanut we are wrapping up 2011 and preparing to ring in 2012 tonight! This upcoming year is so special because this will be your BIRTH YEAR!
We were just talking last night about how fast things can change in just a matter of a year. Last year when Daddy and I celebrated the new year we both still lived in Flagstaff and had no idea that we would be where we are today. Since then we have...
-Both relocated to the valley
-Daddy started his job at LA Fitness
-Mommy got a job at East Valley Pediatric Dentistry andNRG Dance
-We found an adorable apartment to rent in Gilbert, AZ
-Mommy got a new car (which is perfect - because my old car would not have been big enough to fit you)
but most of all....
Found out the great news of your arrival!!!!

We are truly blessed and look forward to see what's in store for 2012!

CHRISTMAS 2011

Hi Sweetheart,

I'm sorry it's been awhile, we sure have been busy with the holidays! Christmas has already come and gone. Here is a sneak peek of Mommy and Daddy's tree this year.

( I spy baby pink furry boots and even some vans/converse baby boy socks )
Since we are still unsure if you are a baby girl or a baby boy--mommy had to buy something for each, just to be sure : )

We can't wait to celebrate your first Christmas next year. You will be almost 6 months and I'm sure will be adorable as ever!

Christmas Eve is when I spread the news of your arrival to my mom's side of the family. Everyone is very excited to welcome a new baby into the family!

Mommy has an appointment tomorrow with Dr. Webb for a check-up. I'm unsure what we will be doing but we are hoping to hear your heartbeat and set up an appointment for my next Ultrasound! That will be the gender determination Ultrasound. Will we be blessed with a little boy or a little girl? Only you know that right now : ) We are very anxious to find out.

I think Daddy and I have officially decided on what your name will be...
Baby Girl= Braelyn
Baby Boy= Jaxson

"B" for mommy, "J" for Daddy , hope you love it! : )

Spreading the news to the Ledbetter's

Well...today was another big day for us! It has been a family tradition for quite some time to make homemade tamales around Christmas time. Every year in the past I've either been in school or had to work. This year was the first year I could help Great-Grandma, Grammie, and Aunt Dee Dee make them...22 dozen to be exact! (We even made holiday cake pops!).
But most of all, the biggest thing that happened today was...
I TOLD THEM ALL FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT I WAS PREGNANT!
Everybody was very supportive, like I had expected. I even got a bit teary-eyed talking to Great-Papa about you. They are all so sweet. They have never missed a single important thing in my life. All of them are very special and dear to me and I cannot wait for you to meet them. You will be the first Great-Grandbaby!
Great-Papa had made me a cradle when I was born. They have saved it and said I could use it for you! : ) How special is that? The first bed you lay your sweet head in will be the same one my parents laid me in 23 years before. What's even more special is that my Papa had made it! He is an amazing wood-worker and has created beautiful pieces of work for our family. We are very lucky to have him in our lives! He has even offered to make your crib and any other piece of furniture we need for your nursery! Great-Grandma is an outstanding cook, and homemaker extraordinaire. She can cook, sew, and craft like nobody's business. I will show you someday all of the wonderful things she has made me over the years. She plans to help me sew all of the bedding for your crib! I'm so glad you will get to meet my Papa and Grandma.

Showing you off : )

Last night Grandpa and Grandma Johnson came over as well as your Auntie's Levianna and Kyiesha. They wanted to see you! They were unable to make it to mommy's ultrasound so they were anxious to come see our pictures and the DVD.
There was a cute moment as Levianna was looking at the stockings we have hung for Christmas. She went down the line...Kahlua... Jarison... Brittany... Baby Johnson? She said, "Who's Baby Johnson? I've never met them before". Grandma then brought up the conversation they had had the other day where they told the girls I had a baby growing in my tummy. It was precious, they had lot's of questions about you.
We all sat and watched the DVD of the ultrasound. Grandma and Grandpa couldn't believe how well they could see you. They loved to see you move around. Grandma thinks you were punching in the air at one point and then even saying your prayers. They thought it was cute to see you fall asleep and not budge when we were trying to wake you up...you sleep like your daddy! : )

Daddy and I are proud to show off our sweet angel! We cannot wait to share you with every single one of our loved ones! : ) xoxo

Our Little Jumping Bean : )

Awh, my little sweetheart you were so cute today. Mommy went in for her first Ultrasound today. The ultrasound was used to look inside my belly and show us what you look like.
Mommy, Daddy, Grammie and Papa were there to share this special moment.
You were exactly how old we thought you were: 12 weeks! You are just a little bigger than Daddy's thumb : )
You sure put on a show for us today, you...
- Jumped
- Kicked
- Danced
- Flipped
- Took a nap
- Moved your arms
- Covered your face
Maybe even...
- Sucked your thumb
and
- Said a prayer with your hands together

We saw your tiny knees, fingers, ears, eyes, your brain, your heart beating--today it was a little slower than last time, 166 beats per minute, which is perfect!

At one point during the ultrasound your were laying on your belly, face down. The ultrasound tech needed you on your back for a special measurement...she had Mommy cough to try and get you to turn over, but nope you wouldn't budge. Mommy then stood up, jiggled my belly, did a little dance,  and said "come on little baby, turn over". When I layed back down, you were in the perfect spot! What a good listener you already are ; )

We have pictures of you now. We even saw you in 3-D. They made us a special DVD of the whole ultrasound. Daddy was so proud to show you off. When we got back into the car he couldn't stop gushing about how cute you were. He sent pictures to Grandma Johnson as soon as we got home. Daddy also told me that he showed you off to all of his friends at work! I did the same, I showed all of my friends at work how adorable you were too! We both feel so blessed to know that you are ours : )

It is crazy to think that you are moving around so much in my tummy and that I cannot feel you yet. Soon enough I will be able to feel you in there my little jumping bean!

We love you!!

For The First Time...

Dear Baby Johnson,

Hi little peanut! It's Mommy. This is the first time you are getting to hear me talk to you. I created this blog so I can write to you and talk to you. It is also a way for me to express my feelings about you. When you are older, we can look back at all the things I had to say about you : )

Daddy and I found out that you were going to share your beautiful life with us on November 14, 2011. I came home from work and took a special test. It told me that something itty-bitty was growing in my belly. That itty-bitty blessing was YOU! I called Daddy four times but he was really busy at work. I called Grammie, who was just getting off of work, and told her she had to come to our apartment ASAP! She was worried something was wrong and called Papa. I was then able to get ahold of Daddy, I shared with him the news. He was shocked. We had kinda suspected something because I wasn't feeling quite myself for a few weeks. He promised he would hurry home from work to be with me. Papa called me to see why I was crying. I told him that I took the special test and that it said I was going to have a baby. He was so sweet and comforting. He told me that some of life's biggest blessings are unexpected and that you were part of God's plan for Daddy and I. Grammie then arrived, I was in tears, she gave me a hug and asked what was wrong. I told her the news, she couldn't believe it, she was going to be a Grammie for the first time. She stayed and talked with me, she gave me lots of great advice and was 100% supportive. Daddy then came home, he gave me a big hug. He chatted with Grammie and I. It started to get late and we were all hungry. Grammie took Daddy and I to eat at Panda Express. We sat outside and talked about the little miracle growing inside of me. Grammie gave me the number to Dr. Webb's office so I could make my first appointment.

I went on November 18th to Dr. Webb's office for the first time. They took blood from me and said that they would get back to me on Monday to confirm that you were for sure inside my belly. I was able to meet Dr. Webb for the first time (he delivered Auntie Ashley, and my cousins Lacy and Aubree!) He was very nice! His nurse gave me special vitamins to help you grow and a book for first time mommies. Grammie and I went to Target after to get me Sprite and Saltine Crackers. Mommy had been feeling really sick up until that point. But I am feeling much better now : )

After, we went to decorate for Papa & Grammies 25th Wedding Anniversary Party! I'm glad you were there with me and got to share the special night with us even if you did not know it : ) We ate Globe mexican food--El Rey's to be exact. When you are older you will get to experience Globe Mexican Food. It is Daddy and I's favorite and has been a family tradition for both of us. Did you know that your Great Grandparents--The Johnson's & The Ledbetter's live in the same small town? They will love you to pieces as well, I know it! Speaking of mexican food, that is all that I have been craving since you've been in my belly! You will be just like us! Grandma Johnson told Daddy that all she wanted when she was pregnant with Daddy was Taco Bell...I have felt the same way!! Taco Bell has been my go-to spot!

The doctors office called me on Tuesday of that next week and told me that my hormone levels were high enough and that you were definitely growing in there! They think you were about 71/2-8 weeks old.

Thanksgiving Day was a special day for me, and for you, this year. All of the family was in town for my Aunt Christine's wedding. I wanted to spill the news but I knew I should probably wait. Up until this point only Papa and Grammie Ledbetter and Grandma and Grandpa Johnson as well as Uncle Shaq knew you were inside of me. I still had to tell Uncle Ryan and Auntie Ashley. Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate blessings and things we are thankful for. I decided it was the perfect day to tell them I was expecting you in the summer! I asked to talk to them outside. Auntie Ashley ran inside to get dessert real quick, as she did that Uncle Ryan said "Are you pregnant?" I replied, "Maybe". I wanted Auntie Ashley to get outside before I spilled the beans. As soon as she came out I told them that I was pregnant and was expecting a little one. They were both SO excited. Uncle Ryan & Auntie Ashley both hugged me and promised to be there whenever I needed. They will love you so much!

Thanksgiving weekend was my Aunt Christine and Uncle Tony's wedding in Sedona. You were along with me for the whole thing. We ate yummy food, played games, and danced the night away. I couldn't drink alcohol because it could hurt you so I opted for Shirley Temples with Auntie Ashley : )

December 2nd was a very special day as well. I had my first REAL appointment at Dr. Webbs office. Daddy had to work so Grammie said she would come with me. When we were almost there I got a call from Daddy saying he could come and was getting off of work! That was the greatest news!! They did a full physical on me to make sure I was healthy enough to have you. They drew blood to check all my levels, they gave me a big bag full of lots of interesting information and some samples. Jean Ann was the Nurse Practitioner that helped that day. She was oober sweet and caring and answered all of my special questions about being a mommy for the first time. Everything was healthy and normal, WHEW! The best part of the appointment was when they brought Daddy and Grammie back in the room with me and we were able to HEAR YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME! We could hear your little heartbeat. It sure was fast, 170 beats per minute, to be exact. Jean Ann said that was perfectly normal for a little baby your size.  I couldn't help but smile, Daddy and Grammie were all smiles too! : ) Your heartbeat was so sweet. After we were done, we went to our favorite...TACO BELL! : ) you sure love it!!

This past weekend we took family pictures with Daddy's family. We took a couple silly one's with you! Daddy told his family Thursday November 17, 2011 about you. He went over to Grandpa and Grandma's house to share the special news.  Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Shaq are excited to see you. You will also have two Aunt's on Daddy's side, Levianna & Kyiesha. They will love to take care of you!

This Tuesday could not come quick enough. Do you want to know why? We get to SEE you for the very first time on Tuesday. I am having my first ultrasound and we are meeting with a Genetic Counselor to make sure you are healthy! I cannot wait to see you!

I already love you so much! I would do anything for you! Daddy and I are awaiting your arrival. You are 11 weeks old right now. You still have to grow for 29 more weeks before we get to meet you. Daddy wants to know if your a boy or a girl already...he does not want to wait!
Mommy and Daddy adopted a puppy in July 2010. Her name is Kahlua and she will be like a sister to you. When Mommy doesn't feel good and is laying in bed, Kahlua sits next to the bed to make sure I'm okay.
All 3 of us can't wait to welcome you into our home! : )
