Well...today was another big day for us! It has been a family tradition for quite some time to make homemade tamales around Christmas time. Every year in the past I've either been in school or had to work. This year was the first year I could help Great-Grandma, Grammie, and Aunt Dee Dee make them...22 dozen to be exact! (We even made holiday cake pops!).
But most of all, the biggest thing that happened today was...
I TOLD THEM ALL FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT I WAS PREGNANT!
Everybody was very supportive, like I had expected. I even got a bit teary-eyed talking to Great-Papa about you. They are all so sweet. They have never missed a single important thing in my life. All of them are very special and dear to me and I cannot wait for you to meet them. You will be the first Great-Grandbaby!
Great-Papa had made me a cradle when I was born. They have saved it and said I could use it for you! : ) How special is that? The first bed you lay your sweet head in will be the same one my parents laid me in 23 years before. What's even more special is that my Papa had made it! He is an amazing wood-worker and has created beautiful pieces of work for our family. We are very lucky to have him in our lives! He has even offered to make your crib and any other piece of furniture we need for your nursery! Great-Grandma is an outstanding cook, and homemaker extraordinaire. She can cook, sew, and craft like nobody's business. I will show you someday all of the wonderful things she has made me over the years. She plans to help me sew all of the bedding for your crib! I'm so glad you will get to meet my Papa and Grandma.
